Animal Foster Carer: Dogs (Highlands & Islands Rescue & Rehoming Centre)

Opportunity image

We are looking for loving foster homes for some of the dogs in our care on a temporary basis. If you are passionate about dogs, and have a calm, understanding and patient nature, this could be the ideal role for you.

You will be fostering a dog in your own home and have experience of looking after dogs and supporting their welfare needs. The duration of foster care required may vary based on the specific needs of each animal and may be short term or more longer term, however our team will discuss and agree this with you beforehand.

As a foster carer, you will be provided with a starter pack containing everything you need for the safety and comfort of your foster dog during their stay with you. We will also provide food and cover the costs of any veterinary treatment and our team will be on hand to ensure you have all the support you need.

Our veterinary team may need to see your foster dog from time to time and so the ability to travel to our animal rescue and rehoming centres will be required. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to the dogs in our care, especially as some of them find it hard to adapt to kennel life and benefit more from time in a loving foster home.
